Step by Step DSLR Camera Body and Lenses Cleaning
NOTE: Your lenses are made of glasses
where your photos’ sharpness and clarity depend. Cleaning them is definitely
necessary.
1. Start
cleaning outside. Use microfiber cloth to clean the camera body exterior and q
tips to clean all deep-seated dirt or dust.
2. Use
soft lens cleaning cloth on the front glass of the lens. IMPORTANT: Always lock
the mount cap on the lens as protection against unwanted elements.
3. Blow
dirt and dust off your camera body’s crevices with an air blower.
4. Add
a small amount of cleaning fluid to the lens cloth and apply it on the glass
and then the exterior of the lens and camera body.
5. Remove
the lens mount from the body to clean the digital sensor of the camera.
6. Place
the camera to sensor cleaning mode and then air-blow the defensive filtering
element of the digital sensor. IMPORTANT: Do not touch the filter.
7. Sweep
the surface in one direction with a clean brush—using the right size of
cleaning swab, take two drops of cleaning solution and sweep across the
filtering element’s surface. IMPORTANT: Make sure the power is on at all times.
If the camera turns off, the sensor curtain will shut off, and cause
irreversible damage.
8. Remount
the lens to the camera body and take another photo to check if spots and
blemishes were removed.
