lucky...lucky....lucky

It is the 13th of April and you know, people are really superstitious. And even if i am not one who will truly be affected of all these, my family is more into it. I have this red ornament, which I have on my personal phone. I hang it there because it is somewhat cute, but it was originally given to me for the purpose of enhancing my 'luck'. It is actually a Chinese design that promotes luck in general. Since it looks good on my phone and it fits my preferences in terms of color, I always have it on.

I think there is actually nothing wrong with having it, I mean for those that do not believe in old sayings and superstitious beliefs. For me, as long as something looks good and complements me or my things, its okay. One thing that will keep me from spending for a thing is its cost. There are actually lucky charms, as they are called, that are truly expensive and can consume as much space. Another is when you need to make orations and accessorizing it every so often. I just think that it would be so much.

I am just thankful that my mom, superstitious that she is, does not spend too much on any lucky charms like any ordinary devotee. Some will even adorn the entire house with huge and attention craving statues and accessories. Although I don't have anything against it, it seems a waste of time and money. Imagine if you will need to clean it everyday and offer food in front of it? What if the house is too small and you have to observe silence and all that in the presence of such statues? Isn't it look like the house is not a home anymore but the statue's warehouse? Just thinking out loud, lol.....
